EGFA Fourth Project Photos - January 2009
FOURTH PROJECT
EGFA'a fourth project was completed in January 2010. This saw an 85 watt solar lighting system with eight lights installed in a newly-built monastery and attached building at the village of Kunikhop in the Solukhumbu region of Eastern Nepal. The building has two rooms; one is a big hall and the other an office. In the community building various training and community groups meet. The village built the community building and monastery by donations, and the solar lighting installation fits in with their self-sufficient approach to village development.
Yadav Gurung, from the Himalayan Light Foundation reported:
We were able to complete the Khunikhop electrification project and here is the photographs. My sincere gratitude to all the Earth Garden Foundation Members for their heartfelt support in helping us to electrify various health and community centers of Solukhambu district in the year 2009. This has encouraged the center In-charge in providing his/her services to the rural communities even in evening and late night hours and the villagers in receiving services at their need.
On this occasion, I would like to wish all the Foundation Members A VERY HAPPY and PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR 2010 And at the same time we look forward to continue working with you in this year 2010 and beyond.
With best regards,
Yadav R Gurung
